Keep on swimming... I mean colouring!

During this festive time which is about sharing...Here's an inside look into the process of colouring a comic book page for the Ellen Degeneres book for Bluewater Productions.

I start with the penciled art provided by Bluewater.

I then seperate out the gutters and choose a base tone which will later effect the mood of the whole page.

The flat colours go in next. I reference real people, environments and fish at this stage.

After the flat colours are complete I add the base tone which should be really subtle.

It's now time to pick up the brushes! Using a couple of layers I now paint in all the shadows, highlights and other details. And here you have it, a completed page.

And finally... Keep on swimming colouring.

Here are some pages I'm colouring for Political Power George Bush for Bluewater productions. Another wonderfull project that I'm really happy to be doing. And it's just so fun. It is due to be released in December.

Here's a couple of covers I coloured for Legend of Isis and 10th Muse for Bluewater productions. They're set in two very different eras but both need to feel grounded in reality.

Colin Powell pages

Here's a selection of pages I coloured for the Colin Powell biography for Bluewater. These pages have been really great to work on, I especially enjoyed the Vietnam pages.

I had my model F-14 sat on my desk for this page.

Velica And Palin

I've recently received complimentary copies of Velica. I coloured the cover (art by Kenneth Johnson) for ztudioz.


I've also received copies of Female Force Sarah Palin. I coloured the interior artwork for Bluewater productions.



I am very pleased with how both came out.
